#Delete my account

Deleting your account is irreversible. You can also request deletion if you only use email verification to find your activities. If you just want to stop using BenOui! on a device, sign out instead.

#Before requesting deletion

You cannot delete your account while you are Going to a published or archived event that has not ended. An event with no end date also prevents deletion. Review the events shown, withdraw where allowed, or wait until they end. Cancelled events and drafts do not prevent deletion for this reason.

Group membership or a waitlist position does not, by itself, block a request. On acceptance, BenOui! ends active memberships, withdraws affected waitlist positions, and invalidates affected pending requests or invitations. Review the consequences before continuing.

#Verify, then explicitly confirm

Request the verification code intended for deletion and verify your email address. This step does not delete anything on its own. You must then explicitly confirm deletion. A code used to sign in does not replace this verification.

When you confirm, BenOui! checks again that it can accept your request. If your verification has expired or an event now prevents it, follow the message shown. Wait for BenOui! to confirm that your request was accepted.

Once your request is accepted, you are signed out and access to your account is blocked while processing continues. The result page confirms that deletion was requested; it does not necessarily mean all processing has finished. An accepted deletion cannot be cancelled.

#What is removed and what remains

Your account, sign-in details and associated personal information are deleted. Groups, events and some shared or historical records remain, but are no longer linked to your account. Deletion does not erase every activity involving other people, recall emails already received or remove every mention of your name in written text.

Your email address cannot be used with BenOui! during processing and for 30 full days (720 hours) after deletion finishes. This period does not start when you submit the request. If you return later, you start again. Your old account is not restored.
