Profile and preferences

Use your profile to choose what others see about you. In your account settings, you can also choose the language of your emails.

Choose what to share

If you have a public profile, treat the information displayed there as public. A short introduction and a general location may be enough; avoid including private contact details, access codes or your precise home address.

The available options let you personalize your display name, introduction and profile appearance. A public profile may also show public groups you manage. Review your profile after making changes to see what other people can see.

Changing your profile does not withdraw your permission for a group or event to use your name. Review those permissions separately if you want to change them.

Personalize images

Choose a photo and banner you have permission to use. Avoid images of people without their consent or images containing personal information. Use the available cropping and appearance options, then check the saved result.

If an image is rejected, read the message before trying again with a suitable file. Supported formats, dimensions and limits may change. Follow the instructions in the form.

Choose your language

Your account’s communication language is used for emails and your next sign-in. It is separate from the language of the page you are viewing. Changing the navigation language does not automatically translate an organizer’s text or a group’s description.

A group can have its own default language. You can change your language without leaving your groups or changing your event responses.
