Join and leave a group

Join a group to follow its activities. To attend one of its events, respond to that event too. Joining the group does not reserve a place.

Find the right way to join

Start from the group’s page or the invitation you received. A public group can be viewed through its shared address; this does not mean BenOui! offers a directory of all groups. Depending on its settings, you can join after verifying that it is you or send a request for the team to review.

To join a private group, you may need to send a request or be added by its team. While you wait, you may see its introduction, but not its event history, team or member count.

Use your own email address and check whether the result says you have joined or are waiting for approval. You can find pending requests among your activities. An event invitation may also offer a way to join its group, but the group’s own access rules still apply.

Leave or withdraw a request

You can leave a group or withdraw a request that has not been approved after verifying that it is you. Once you leave, you lose information reserved for members. Your existing event responses, invitations, requests and waitlist places may remain.

If you also want to stop attending an event, change your response on that event. Read the confirmation before leaving the group. Leaving does not reopen events you could no longer access.
